Play the game....
Life is funny.
From time to time I get caught up in the back and forth of life. Work starts getting a bit too much or life has a funny way of tossing too much shit my way and most every time I take a step back and think, this is all just a game. Society...society is a game we all agree to play. Technically we don't have to play, but too many of us get caught up in what we want out of life that we forget about the small things and start following a path towards the life we want to carve out for us. We get lost in the details, the work days and the commutes, the traffic jams and the long tiring days. We get lost and sometimes it's hard to remember that life is just a game.
When you get down to the details, we are sacks of flesh, able to see, hear, touch, taste and feel. We have complex minds able to think logically...and illogically as well. No one really knows much of how we came to be here, though a lot of people have theories on that, but no one really knows for sure. Some say a God created us in his image, others say we were made from stardust in a great universal explosion and evolved from single cell organisms over the course of millions of years. Others think we were dropped here by aliens to mine gold....there are a lot of theories on how we arrived but no one really knows for sure, nor does it really matter in my opinion. There are a dozen variations on what happens after we die too, but just like creation...no one really knows for sure as people don't tend to come back after they die to tell us what to expect.
Playing the game is a requirement up to a certain degree. We need money to exist in this world and until that day comes when money will be replaced with something else, we still need to play the game. How we play is up to us, though many of us play using the same moves and strategies, though it is possible to play a different way. It is not uncommon and surely won't lead you to a wealthy retirement, but really....life is more than just the game we play, right?

I feel life itself simply is a passing mode of existence at its "core". But for whatever reason (or simply "just cause") we are conscious of the concept of time. We observe the world changing and moving around us and call it time. And being the social, herd minded people we are, we feel the need to move with the world. We feel that if we do nothing, we'll just wither. The nature of energy seems to be one of constant change and if we dont direct that energy it'll find its own way to the next phase of its existence.
ReplyDeleteSo, with our desire to keep moving and being the social creatures we are, we try and figure out what we want to do with our energy. So since our energy will use itself regardless, we figure we may as well use our energy to seek out what we should do with it. XD But hey, it's still satisfying. The energy just wants to flow and we want to feel like its being put to good use.
This then brings me to my theory of the game. Somewhere along the line we as a collective consciousness decided meer survival and existance was a disatisfying use of our energy. It was simply using energy to just to keep our energy in this state of existence. (So I think because we dont see how its flowing into the world beyond us, we feel like its being wasted.) As a result of desiring our energy to in a way exist beyond our deaths, we created constructs of our imaginings. We had visions, found passions, and created reasons for things. The world became a canvas to leave our mark on. The collective had decided to accept certain constructs. Some strengthened and some weakened the collective in different "areas" of itself.
Getting to the point (point being to answer your question), I certainly do feel that life is more than just a game. The game, or perhaps i should say games, is a construct that serves either the individual or some part of the collective in some way or another to make it feel energy is being put to use. Motion is happening and energy has got to keep moving right? Otherwise its just potential energy, which for creatures concious of time, is just not satisfying.
I feel we are free to choose how we spend our energy so long as it does not interfere with what the collective has agreed upon. And if we go against the collective, we lose both the troubles and benefits of its constructs. I think we do take these games and constructs much to seriously. They are games to keep us moving. But i think we need to remember that we are just conduits of energy all dependent on eachother trying to figure out what we want to do with our little bleeps of time, and we're all going to just move on to the next phase at any moment.
Forgive me for the unorganised rant and rable. Like with "overkill", I just had some thoughts wanting to be put to screen. Was totally meant to be simpler shorter and sweeter but then i just started typing haha~ Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
